Our story

The focus of the “People’s Development Organization” is not limited to any particular community in Sierra Leone but is extended to the entire Sierra Leone as far as Serving Humanity in meeting their needs. So, it is widely believed that every child from the soil of Sierra Leone has connection with the Organization because the formation of this organization is to see how we can help the vulnerable and excluded population in the country.
The organization is registered with the Sierra Leone Non-Governmental Organization (SLANGO), the Ministry of Finance, Development and Economic Planning (MoFDEP). It is composed of Youths and Adults who believe in empowerment as a means to achieve equality for Children, Women, the Aged, Disable, the Disadvantaged and Marginalized. In light of the above, PDO is also committed to promoting these human dignities by increasing children access to quality education, life sustaining information / skills and by engaging in sustained policy advocacy for the transformation of structures and systems that are responsible for their marginalization and powerlessness. Our organization is geared towards addressing such issues in the nation as a whole in the following areas: Education,Health & Human Security, Livelihood Development and Food Security, Child protection and Women’s Empowerment.

Goal
PDO is dedicated to expanding access to high-quality education, vital knowledge, and employable skills in order to uphold the rights and dignity of marginalised and at-risk groups. We participate in policy advocacy to change the processes and structures that exclude and weaken these communities. Throughout Sierra Leone, our organisation is engaged and focuses on the following things: Education, Security & Health for All, Development of Livelihoods and Food Security, Children’s Safety Empowering Women. for children. For some, society and their families have rejected them due to the stigma.
